The IBM PalmTop PC110 Using PS2.EXE

 
PS2.EXE is the configuration program for the PC110. Whereas EasySetup (the BIOS configuration) concerns itself with just hardware devices, PS2 covers this plus power management and other small configuration details.

Full screen vs. command line

PS2 can run in two modes:

• Full screen - requires double-byte character set support (known to most as 'Japanese DOS'!).
• command line - no double-byte character set requirement; gives output in English (provided you have selected a non-Japanese codepage)

Most non-Japanese users will find the command line version to be the most useful!

Command line parameters

PS2 is used with parameters. It does not provide a facility for checking current values of individual settings, but it can reset all settings to their defaults. The following is a listing of all parameters, with a description of their usage.

Each parameter (or set of parameters) should be typed after PS2, e.g.

ps2 vexpansion on

is used to turn on vertical expansion of the LCD in certain display modes.

Some letters of the parameters are capitalised - these are the necessary letters if you wish to use abbreviations. For example

ps2 vexpansion off

and

ps2 vexp of

have the same effect.

PS2 has two sets of paramters - basic and advanced. The basic parameters are documented; the advanced ones are not.
