Installing Windows 95
|
OSR2 allows a spin-down time to be set for the hard drive, both for mains and battery usage. Click on the Disk Drives tab of the Power applet under Control Panel to access these settings.
I unchecked the option in the Advanced settings of the Display Properties entitled Reset display on suspend/resume. This stops Win95 from refreshing the display when you come out of suspend mode, an operation which adds a second or two to the resume process.
Remember you can still use the PS2 command under Windows 95 to control such features as the screen blanking timeout. Click here for more details on this function.
Yoshinori Sakamoto posted to the mailing list that you could get the Win95 shutdown operation to power off the PC110 if you issued the command
PS2 _@CMOS
0F9H=011HNote that you will then have to check the option Use APM 1.0 compatibility mode
in the Power section of Control Panel for the battery meter to work after this.
